For starters, you need to make sure that the surface is clean. There is nothing as bad as installing travertine pavers on a surface filled with debris or any kind of dirt. By doing this will be counterproductive as the pavers will not last for long before coming off. Ensure that all the dust on the concrete surface is swept away. Once done with that, spray the area with soapy water to remove any stubborn materials. When using soap, however, it should be a few drops and once done, use clean water to rinse the area. It is important that you leave the area to dry naturally but if the travertine tiles are to be installed indoors, you can dry the concrete with a dehumidifier.

The next step in the tumbled pavers installation process is applying the mortar. Once the concrete is fully dry, you should apply the mortar on it and allow for the two to bond. For the installation of stone pavers to be successful however, you need to make sure that you get the ratio of the mortar mixture right. This is a tricky part especially for those who are not experts in the area. You need to get the ratio right as this will determine whether the travertine tiles will last for long on the floor before coming off. If you find it hard following the manual for mixing the mortar, do not fret yourself as you can purchase mortar that is already mixed. It is important that you apply the mortar in small areas because by so doing, it will not get time to dry before you place travertine tiles.

After applying and spreading the mortar, the next step is laying travertine pavers. For this process to be easier on your side, you should begin to place the stone pavers from the corners. This will not only ensure that natural stone pavers are well attached with the walls of the structure but it will also ensure that the installation process goes smoothly. For sidewalk or driveway pavers adding some mortar on the edges will be beneficial. To ensure that travertine tiles attach well, you should apply some pressure on them by pressing on them as you install.

Repeat the above step carefully until all the natural stone pavers are in place and once done, clean the excess mortar residue, which is usually expelled via the tiny spaces left between travertine tiles. This mortar can be kept somewhere for later Use.
