It was to be Samsung telephone systems that would take over from Rhapsody’s as keeping pace with technology became paramount.

At the point of introduction in the early nineties, the marque was associated with cheap low end fax machines and buyers were cautious. They launched with the DCS range of Samsung telephone systems and the big news was ISDN line compatibility and the concomitant integration to computers. They were at the forefront of convergence with their TAPI Cti software. It enabled screen popping on inbound and power dialling from inside other programmes such as databases.

Sales proceeded well and it wasn’t long before the Koreans bought the British distributor for themselves. Things then got more serious as they used it as a platform to launch into Europe.
